Kimberly Waigwa is a graduate of the University of Arizona’s Fred Fox School of Music, holding both a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. 


As a young conductor, Waigwa is gaining a reputation for high energy, fast paced rehearsals. Waigwa seeks to provide empowering, inclusive, and vigorous musical experiences with aspirations to stand out as a high caliber and multifaceted educator, 


As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and advocate for social justice, they have served as a community music leader since 2017, directing the Phoenix Women’s Chorus and Desert Voices since 2020. 


Previously, Waigwa has served in a variety of musical positions including Interim Director of the St. Nicholas and After School Music Program Choirs, private vocal and piano instructor, assist director of Desert Voices, with which they made their national conducting debut at the 2016 Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA) Festival in Denver, Colorado, as well asbeing selected as one of eight undergraduates to participate in the Undergraduate Master class at the 2017 American Choral Directors Association’s National Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
